Music streaming in Tanzania and Kenya is still at its infant stages. Up until now, Kenyans and Tanzanians who wanted to stream music from their favourite local musicians had to go to Mdundo, Reverbnation, SoundCloud, Hulkshare among others. This is all about to change with the launch of Mziiki, a free music streaming app that the developers say is “designed to deliver native African music experience for music lovers.”
This free to download and use app is owned by Spice VAS Africa a mobile Value Added Service company headquartered in Singapore but with presence in Africa, India, Asia Pacific and South Asia. The ‘motto’ behind the app is listen, love and share (#listenloveshare on Twitter).
Through the app, you can
-Listen to your favourite jams for free as long as you are connected to the internet.
-You can share your favourite tracks with friends through Facebook, Twitter, SMS and Email.
-Dedicate tracks to your beloved ones through Email and SMS.
-You can also favourite your best tracks to find them easily at anytime.
