On Friday the 24th April 2015, His Excellency Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete will officially launch the much anticipated photographic book which celebrates and covers the historic journey of the 50 years of the United Republic Of Tanzania.
The book will be launched at The Serena Hotel, which is located at the heartbeat and the city center of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The book, which comprises of over 444 pages describing in detail the historic journey of Zanzibar and then Tanganyika (Tanzania Mainland), covering the rich historical background and the political journey prior to the Union in 1964 and also the political journey of the factual events from 1964 until 2014.
This book is believed to be the only book of excellence in terms of its contents about the Photographic Journey of the Union and has been published, written and edited by Tanzanians.
The most exceptional story of this book is that it has been blessed by both the existing Presidents, Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein by both having agreed to do the foreword for this book. Furthermore, it remains to be the only book that carries the foreword of both the Presidents of the United Republic of Tanzania and Zanzibar respectively and furthermore they are the current Presidents in power.
This book is anticipated to bring a lot of excitement to the general public and our fellow Tanzanians in terms of using the book for historical research and educational purpose.
Some of the pictures that have been published in this book are appearing in public for the first time.
In addition to the above, the book will serve as a catalyst to promote tourism, investment and business aspect of Tanzania as special chapters on cultural tourism and business institutions has been incorporated.
